Media art blends technical VFX, data visualization, and social commentary to transform complex narratives into immersive visual experiences. I ground my work in deep research and award-winning execution to ensure every piece resonates on both a technical and emotional level.

8-BIT SEOUL is a media art piece that reimagines the hyper-modern energy of South Korea’s capital through a nostalgic, low-fidelity lens. The piece explores the tension between rapid urban evolution and digital memory.
Recipient of 2nd Place in the 7th Dream Big Art Awards (DBAA), a nationwide Media Art Competition organized by DB World. Following this recognition, the work was selected for a featured public exhibition on the Seoul City Hall Media Wall.
조화 (Harmony) | Tan Zi Jian
조화 (Harmony) is a Master’s thesis project that explores the transformation of complex statistical data into narrative-driven media art. The piece utilizes procedural systems to bridge the gap between cold data and emotive storytelling.
The storyline follows the socioeconomic evolution of South Korea, mapping the Consumer Price Index (CPI) against the country’s rapidly aging population. By visualizing these shifting demographics and economic pressures, the work explores the delicate balance—or “Johwa”—required to sustain harmony within a changing society.
